Actually it was his brother, Charles, who wrote the hymns; John just translated a few.

is it too late to change things around? will Richard think I let him down? does it matter, in the BIG scheme of things? is it the thought that counts?
*sigh*
(his actual gift was a box with lines of a Wesley hymn engraved on it - but I couldn't bring myself to be fiddling around between a gentleman's legs sorting that one out)
